15-year-old boy punched in the face at play ground in Wimborne

A 15-year-old boy playing basketball with a friend has been punched in the face at Redcotts Recreation Ground in Wimborne.

The incident happened at approximately 4pm on Thursday 29 December 2022.

It is reported that following a brief interaction, a teenage boy punched the victim before walking off and Police are appealing for information.

The victim sustained bruising to his eye and a cut to his nose.

The offender is described as white, aged around 15 to 17 years old and approximately five feet eight or nine inches tall. He was wearing a black tracksuit with a green bandana on his head covering his hair and was carrying a large bottle of Fanta Orange.

Police Constable Matt Cutler, of East Dorset police, said: “Our investigation is continuing and we have now obtained a full account from the victim.

“I understand a number of people came to the aid of the victim and I would ask them to please come forward as they may have information to help my enquiries.

“Also, I am keen to hear from anyone who recognises the boy from the description given or knows who may be responsible.”
