Dorset Police is appealing for information in Verwood regarding the rider of a black motocross bike who failed to stop when instructed to around Champtoceaux Ave on Tuesday night.

Officers noticed the bike with no registration plates travelling along Champtoceaux Ave, Verwood on Tuesday evening and tried to direct the rider to stop.

The rider instead took evasive action into the housing estate of Field Place.

Whilst searching the estate, the rider was quickly located behind a hedge. The rider then rode past officers, narrowly missing their patrol car.

Dorset Police say a decision was made not to pursue the rider due to the significant danger this would place the officers in.

They added: “The black motocross bike had no stickers or markings, however, is very distinctive. We would be keen to hear from anyone who might know who this rider is.”
