Police looking for man after attempted fraud offence in West Moors

Officers investigating an attempted fraud offence in West Moors are issuing CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to.

At approximately midday on Tuesday 10 December 2019 a man is alleged to have attended the home of an elderly man off Glenwood Road and falsely purported to be employed by the Dyno-Rod drainage company.

It is further alleged that he went on to demand £80 to fix a problem with the victim’s drain. The victim declined to pay by cash stating he only had a debit card and the man left.

Police Community Support Officer James Marsh, of Ferndown police, said: “We have spoken to the drainage company and established this man was not one of their employees.

“As part of my enquiries into this incident, I am now in a position to issue a CCTV image of a man I would like to speak to. I would ask anyone who recognises this man to please contact Dorset Police.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police by calling 101 quoting occurrence number 55190193973.
