Trapped horse freed by Verwood fire station crew and Vet outside Tesco

A two-year-old male horse was freed by Verwood firefighters and a local vet outside Tesco Express on Friday afternoon.

The horse, named Prince, became trapped in a horse box on his way to a new home.

The crew worked with a local vet to give Prince a mild sedative to keep him calm during the rescue. Prince was released after the crew used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the bar that Prince had jumped over.

Verwood firefighters wrote: “We are pleased to report that Prince was uninjured during the rescue and is now hopefully enjoying his new home.”
