A31 eastbound onslip from Verwood now open as roadworks come to and end

Journeys between Verwood to Ringwood are back to normal as the widening works and long-term slip road closures come to an end.

The eastbound entry to the A31 from Verwood (B3081 Verwood Road) reopened on schedule on Saturday morning, after the westbound entry to the A31 from Ringwood opened the day before.

In January this year, the westbound carriageway was closed and all traffic moved onto the eastbound carriageway using a contraflow.

While the road has been closed, two bridges over the A31 were demolished and rebuilt, to create a new third lane between the Ringwood and Verwood junctions.

Some work is still being carried out but the A31 now has three lanes westbound and four lanes eastbound running.
