Emergency services called to bin fire on Vicarage Road in Verwood

Verwood fire crew was called out to a small fire involving refuse located in Vicarage Road Verwood over the weekend.

The incident happened on Friday evening when an emergency call was made just before half past 10.

The attending crew arrived on scene within two minutes of being called.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said they extinguished the fire using buckets of water.

In addition, Verwood Fire attended the remains of a controlled burn just outside of Verwood on Saturday morning. They used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

The crew posted a reminder online about fire safety: “Remember to fully extinguish controlled burns once completed to ensure that any remaining embers don’t reignite and potentially cause harm.”
